Hallo zusammen!

Ich biete persönlichen und Online-Unterricht in Kontrabass und E-Bass, Improvisation (alle Instrumente, von allgemeinen Ideen bis zu spezifischen Konzepten) und Komposition. Ich bin in Berlin-Neukölln oder komme zu dir ins Studio, ins Haus etc.

Ich war von 2018-2023 Dozent am Leeds Conservatoire, UK, und unterrichte seit über 10 Jahren privat. Ich bin in ganz Europa als Komponist, Performer und Improvisator tätig und trete auch regelmäßig in Berlin auf - weitere Informationen findet ihr auf meiner Website: www.jamesbanner.com

Ich erstelle mit jedem/r Schüler*in einen informellen und individuellen Plan und biete auf Wunsch kostenloses Audio- und Videofeedback zwischen den Unterrichtsstunden an. Der Instrumentalunterricht ist entspannt und kann von Anfang an Theorie, Komposition und Improvisation beinhalten, um einen vielseitigen Musiker*in zu fördern. Improvisationsunterricht ist für alle Instrumente/Gesang geeignet und kann in spezifischen musikalischen Kontexten wie Jazz, freie Improvisation, Interpretation neuer Musik (zeitgenössische Musik) usw. stattfinden. Kompositionsunterricht kann sich auf instrumentale/vokale Komposition und elektronische/elektroakustische Komposition und post-production mit Ableton oder anderer Software konzentrieren.

Englisch (Muttersprache)/Deutsch (und etwas Französisch) als mögliche Unterrichtssprachen. Der Preis versteht sich pro 60 Minuten. Regelmäßige, unregelmäßige oder spontane Termine (z.B. einmalige Stunden) sind möglich.

Hello everybody!

I offer in-person and online lessons in double bass and electric bass, improvisation (all instruments, from general ideas to specific concepts) and composition. I am based in Berlin-Neukölln or can come to your location, studio, house etc.

I design an informal and customised plan in collaboration with each student and offer free audio and video feedback between lessons upon request. Instrumental lessons are relaxed and can include theory, composition and improvisation from the beginning to help build a well-rounded musician. Improvisation lessons are for all instruments/vocals and can be in specific musical contexts such as jazz, free improvisation, new music (contemporary music) interpretation, etc. Composition lessons can focus on instrumental/vocal composition and electronic/electroacoustic composition and post-production using Ableton or other software.

English (native)/German (and some French) as possible teaching languages. Price is per 60 minutes. Regular, irregular or spontaneous schedules (e.g. one off lessons) are possible.
