About Me:
‍ Hi, I’m Justin, a seasoned music instructor with over 15 years teaching experience in guitar, bass and ukulele. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on classical and jazz guitar, and have performed and recorded music from a myriad of genres including rock, country, folk, gypsy jazz, indie/electronic, and many more. I’ve also done lots of work as a music transcriber, and have written several e-books and articles on the subject of learning guitar, bass and ukulele.

Personalized Lessons: Tailored to your skill level and musical interests. My main teaching philosophy is to teach YOU music through the music that YOU LOVE. I don’t use method books from the 1950s that teach you how to play “Mary Had A Little Lamb” or “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”…unless, of course, that’s the kind of music you love to listen to and want to learn. Whatever your goal is on the instrument, I will take you step-by-step until you reach it.

Diverse Repertoire: Play your favourite songs, whether it's rock, classical, pop, blues, jazz, neo-soul, punk, or pretty much any other genre.

Goal-Oriented: Achieve your musical ambitions, whether it's strumming for fun, composing your own songs, shredding face melting solos, or performing on stage.

Beginner to Advanced: All ages and skill levels welcome. I also cover ear-training, sight-reading and music theory and offer PREPARATORY classes for University entrance exams.
